本書の存在は知らなかった．タイトルに惑わされないように．第１部は，一般体系学の原理を論じている．第２部は先史学における体系学の意義とその再構築を目指す．思わぬところに思わぬ本がという感じ．初版が出版された頃の体系学の雰囲気が伝わってくる．とくに，数量分類学の扱いなど．
